  1. Mount Partition:

  3. To mount a partition onto the desktop:
  4.  
  5. 1.    Select a partition from the list at the top right in the Partitions window.
  6.  
  7. NOTE:  You can only mount Macintosh HFS partitions.
  8.  
  9. 2.    Click the Mount button.  
  10.  
  11. 3.    If the partition is passworded, a dialog will appear asking for the password.  If the password typed in by you is correct, the partition is mounted onto the desktop.

  13. NOTE:  When you type in your password for a given partition, you have three chances.  Once you fail the third time, that partition cannot be mounted until the Macintosh is restarted.  After each restart, you have three chances to type in the correct password.

  15. 4.    Click the Done button.

  17. You can also mount a partition by double-clicking on its name in the list at the top right in the Partitions window.
